TransforMed project shares insights from the field on Mediterranean agroforestry

New blog post documents on-the-ground innovations in Tunisia, Turkey, and Morocco as farmers advance landscape restoration through agroforestry systems

Our project partners have published a new article documenting their recent fieldwork across three Mediterranean countries facing critical land degradation challenges. The piece takes readers on a journey through Tunisia's blooming silvopastoral sites, Turkey's innovative windbreak systems on the Konya plateau, and Morocco's groundbreaking carob-argan agroforestry platforms.

Through vivid storytelling and field observations, Claudia Heindorf highlight how local farmers are becoming agents of change, transforming degraded landscapes through tree-based agricultural systems. The article emphasizes the vital role of community engagement, traditional knowledge, and farmer-led experimentation in advancing sustainable land management solutions.
