TransforMed Filming Begins with Agroforestry Stories in Tunisia

This April marked the start of an exciting new phase for TransforMed: the first interviews and filming sessions in Tunisia.

The filmmaker, Sara Correia, together with communication partners, met and interviewed innovative farmers and local actors who are breaking away from conventional practices. These pioneers are adapting their agroecosystems to drier conditions through nature-based, low-input agriculture.

As part of its dissemination activities, TransforMed is producing five learning videos and a full-length documentary showcasing agroforestry perceptions and practices across Mediterranean countries. These visual resources will serve a dual purpose:

  • Raising awareness by highlighting how agroforestry is perceived by institutions, extension officers, farmers, and the general public.
  • Providing technical material for practitioners, featuring demonstrations such as grafting, propagation techniques, plantation methods, water management, and product processing.

The Tunisian footage is just the beginning. In September, the filmmaker will continue to Morocco, with support from local partners, to document experimental agroforestry farms and interview project leaders.

We are thrilled to announce that the first learning videos will be released in spring 2026. Stay tuned for their publication and get ready to discover inspiring stories and practical solutions for soil regeneration and the future of Mediterranean agriculture!
